The new year was started with a
weekly prayer meeting. The meetings were held at different
people's houses. Brother Kish started the meeting with a
song and prayer. We listened to Brother Hamula's treasury
report. The last year's collection amounted to $573.05 and after
that expenses, it left $128. Brothers Haydn and Hamula
offered their tireless services to install the furnace, and the
whole church was thankful. Brother John Haydn suggested
that last year's officers stay on. This was voted "down".
Nominated were:
Alex Butti - Young People's president
Elsie Cerlan - "for all" presidents
Alex Yosa - Sunday School Superintendent
Helen Berta - Sunday School Treasurer
Sister Berta - Sunday School teacher
Alex Butti - Sunday School teacher
John Muha and Andrew Berta - ushers
Paul Butti suggested that this year we
should give more willingly so that the $18 left in the till (could
be added to) so they could pay for some things. He said because
Brother Kish's pay was cut by the state mission board by
$5, we should supplement that $5.00. With this, the church could
pay him $20 a month. After this, Brother Hamula thanked
everybody for the Christmas gift. With this, the meeting was
adjourned.
